Special People, Special Ways ---- Meridith Walden

Childrens Literature Review #3
Topic: Special Needs
Book Title: Special People, Special Ways
By:  Arlene Maguire
Average Age: 5-7

Summary: This book has a nice rhyming tone that talks about the different ways children are special. For example this book discusses how some children can read with their hands, and some use their hands to talk. Another comparison that is seen in the book is physical differences, children who use wheelchairs, canes, or walkers are mentioned. Finally my favorite topic that was talked about was differences the our level of difficulty in the daily tasks like getting dressed and doing homework. The book says that we are all different and special but being special is the best thing about children.
